Advanced Behavior Modification
Eagle Creek K9 Behavior and Training regrets that we are unable to accept clients at this time. We would be happy to discuss your concerns on a short phone consult and suggest a referral based on your specific needs.
Sometimes dogs develop problems that are beyond the scope of normal behavior issues. They can occur for a variety of reasons from socialization issues, medical issues, genetics, traumatic experiences or a combination of these factors. We can help you determine available resources along with developing and implementing training plans to help with these behaviors that can often seem insurmountable.
Two examples would include chronic fear responses to people or other animals and separation anxiety sometimes called 'reactivity'. This can include behaviors ranging from avoidance behaviors to aggression. Sometimes best practices for these complex problems should include your veterinarian to help identify or rule out medical issues that may contribute to the behaviors. Also, certified veterinary behaviorists can be a vital link in the diagnosis and development of successful treatment plans. Eagle Creek can help with a training plan or will work with your veterinarian or certified veterinary behaviorist with their prescribed training plan including progress reports with open dialog as requested by those specialists. The find out more about certified veterinary behaviorists and their role in helping with complex behavior issues, visit the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior website.
The ability for the patient to be safe is vital. A dog should always feel safe physically, emotionally and learning should be risk free. Eagle Creek can help develop a training plan using force free, do no harm principles to facilitate real change and improvement in your dogs problematic behavior thereby improving quality of life for both you and your companion.
